NICAR23 will offer a mix of panels, demos, discussions, networking, and hands-on data training. A list of expected sessions will be posted by mid-November. Full session and speaker details will be released in early 2023.
NICAR23 fellowships are available for the following communities:
- Any journalist (not students nor educators)
- Journalists, students and educators of color
- Women who are early-career (three years or less) or students
- Educators who teach data journalism/investigative reporting
For attending the conference in-person, the fellowship includes:
- One-year IRE membership/renewal ($25-70 value)
- Complimentary conference registration ($100-325 value)
- Four hotel nights ($1,240 value)
- Travel stipend ($500)

All recipients are required to meet IRE’s membership standards: Someone substantially engaged in news gathering, presentation or production; a student pursuing a degree or someone engaged full-time in research or teaching in the field of journalism.
