The TY Danjuma Foundation is a private independent grant making philanthropic organisation based in Abuja, Nigeria. The Foundation was established by General TY
Danjuma GCON (Rtd) and works with a distinguished Board of Trustees. The Foundation’s vision is a Nigeria where all people have access to affordable quality health care, education and opportunities to realise their potentials.

2. Grant Making Strategy
The Foundation’s grantmaking strategy is two-pronged:
- Main Grant: The Foundation supports initiatives across Nigeria by inviting NGOs to apply for funding to implement projects within its focus areas of health and education.
- Taraba/Edo Community Funds: Taraba and Edo states are the home states of the founder’s family. As a result, the Foundation supports annual and special initiatives by grassroots organisations based and working in these states.
2.1 Funding Priorities
The Foundation will build on the achievements of previous grant cycles by supporting
projects that are innovative, creative, cost effective and impactful at both individual and
community levels as outlined in this Call.
3.0 Desired Types of Interventions
The Foundation will support innovative projects that promise real and measurable
progress in the following programme areas:
3.1 Health Programme
The 2020 Call focuses on the following key areas:
- Preventable Blindness
- Maternal and Child Health
- Upgrading Teachers’ Quality
Grant Range: From 5 million Naira to 30 million Naira

Applicants for grants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be a registered not-for-profit organisation working in Nigeria;
- Possess a valid audit report of not more than two (2) years old (This does not apply to applicants under Community Funds scheme);
- Have a verifiable organisational structure;
- Demonstrate community participation & government involvement in the proposed intervention; and
- Have a track record of engagement in similar or related activities.
The deadline for submission of Concept notes is at 4pm on April 30, 2019.
