The Common Ground Center would like to share with you an open call for registrations for the CVE Policy Series – Kenya for all interested persons of ages 35 or below, with interest in pursuing careers related to International Relations, Peace and Security. The CVE Policy Series will convene every third Wednesday of the month and facilitate thematic dialogues on how Counter-Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism (CT/PVE) policy and strategy work in Kenya is adapting in the context of contemporary and/or future challenges and examine the strengths and weaknesses of ‘doing policy differently’. The series is targeted at a broad array of actors, including policy-makers, law enforcement, academics, civil society, and community stakeholders at all levels responsible for P/CVE policy development and program delivery within all the ‘whole-of-society’ entities.
The CVE Policy event series is a project by the Common Ground Center and hosted by the American Reference Center – Kenya. Registered Participants will find an opportunity for information exchange, networking, and cooperation with a variety of stakeholders in the field, sharing of analysis and lessons learned with a view to build collaborative partnerships within and with-out the country.

The thematic dialogues will be based on the following main deliverables:
- Approaches To CVE: to promote and advance the understanding of community engagement, community-oriented policing, the role of families and the community in CVE, and the role of religious education in CVE;
- Criminal Justice and Rule of Law: developing and reviewing existing good practices and capacity-building initiatives for an effective and rule of law-based criminal justice sector response to violent extremism in Kenya;
- CVE Capacity-building & Information Exchange in Kenya: provide a roundtable for information exchange, networking, and cooperation among a variety of stakeholders to promote dialogue, understanding, sharing of analysis and lessons learned with a view to build collaborative partnerships in and for the country;
- DDR (De-radicalization, Disarmament, and Reintegration): a critical platform for developing and reviewing the practicality of current initiatives to help coordinate and build on efforts at the county and national levels to stem the flow of returnees, and address the complex issues related to their return.
