Twende.TV is a citizen web TV focusing on issues that matter for young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC. In this country where traditional media run with a “No money, no voice” policy, the media landscape is saturated by a monotonous dialogue where the same people (politicians, major NGOs and wealthy businesses) talk about the same things over and over again, while young people who can’t pay for time on air are completely ignored.
With the internet, many online media are being created and were seen as an alternative to traditional media. Unfortunately, most of them are falling in the same mistake of producing content that feeds on the political trash talk instead of promoting the voices of young people, the country’s future.

Twende.TV wants to challenge this statu quo by empowering young people through digital literacy and providing them a platform they own and control for non violent self expression.
