The spread of Fake News has greatly polluted the internet society. The far reaching consequences of this were experienced during the Kenya 2017 election Period and even the US 2016 elections where voters were exposed to fake news causing disinformation and manipulation.
For this reason the YALI Network campaign to stop fake News called Checks has been one of the steps taken to address the fake News problem. Together with the Youths For News Justice a movement of youths with an a to increase digital literacy, technology and especially combat fake News want to welcome like minded individuals to attend an event called “Educate To stop fake News.”

This event will take place on 3rd May which is the World Press Freedom Day.
Activities of the day include:
- Members training the public on how to identify and stop fake News
- Member training the public on the dangers of fake News.
Therefore this activity will take place for five hours from 10AM-2PM and members will first meet at the American Reference center in Nairobi then proceed to public places (uhuru Park and Givanjee)
