Young Peacebuilders

Young Peacebuilders is an active member of the Global Partnership for Children and Youth in Peacebuildingand the UN Interagency Working Group on Youth Participation in Peacebuilding, and participates in other relevant child and youth peacebuilding related networks.

Young Peacebuilders is constantly seeking to fill new roles in its team.

Young Peacebuilders Development Director

The Director of Development creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which may include major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Communications Director

The Director of Communications is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of Young Peacebuilders’ communications strategy, marketing communications, and public relations activities; both external and internal. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Branch Coordinators

Take responsibility for developing a YP partnership and Young Peacebuilders Club (YPC) in your community or region. You will help establish the presence of a YP Branch and create a well developed action plan. Other responsibilities include resource development and communication. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Club (YPC) Support Associates

Young Peacebuilders Clubs (YPC) Support Associates will be the initial and ongoing contact for YPC coordinators. You will act as guides for clubs, answering questions and directing coordinators to appropriate resources (i.e., grant applications, training materials, etc.). Must be knowledgeable in the mission and practices of YP and confident addressing coordinator questions and concerns. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Club Mentors

Young Peacebuilders Club (YPC) Mentors help support students in a YPC as they grow their leadership skills and embrace their roles as young change-agents, reconcilers, and peacebuilders. They provide supervision and logistical support of regular club activities and provide coaching and links to potential partners, information, and other resources. YPC Mentors should be 13 years or older. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Development Associate

Gain experience finding and applying for relevant contracts and grants, managing donors, and drafting funding proposals, cover letters, work-plans, and budgets. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders WordPress (WP) Developer

Young Peacebuilders is seeking a short-term volunteer to help update, and assist us in managing, our WordPress website. We would also appreciate guidance on site maintenance and tips and suggestions for future changes. WordPress experience is a must and familiarity with the Philanthropy theme by ThemeFuse would be desired. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis until position is filled.

Young Peacebuilders Communications Team

Gain experience and strengthen your social media and communications skills by joining the Communications Team. We are looking for individuals with an interest in online communications, marketing, writing, and experience with using WordPress. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Young Peacebuilders Video Developer

Gain experience and strengthen your video editing and production skills by assisting us with several video projects and helping expand our social media reach and influence by advancing our YouTube channel. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Guest Bloggers

We are looking for young people, 13 years or older, and those supporting child and youth peacebuilding to share their research and stories on our blog. All submissions must be focused on young people’s participation in peacebuilding. We’ll consider for publication: (1) Research supported posts on child or youth peacebuilding and (2) Personal stories and experiences of your, or your organization’s, involvement in child/youth peacebuilding.

Youth Only Volunteering

Open to youth between the ages of 13 – 17
Youth Social Media Ambassadors

Become a social media ambassador and help #wagepeace across the web! You will help support the Communications team in expanding YP’s reach on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Share YP content and surf the web to find youth and peacebuilding stories, events, projects, and resources. Help find guest bloggers to share their stories about waging peace or if you are visually creative lend a hand in graphic design and/or video development. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Youth YP Club Resource Developers

Assist in developing Young Peacebuilders Clubs (YPC) related tools and resources by providing input on the YPC Training Manual and other club related tools. Review and offer advice on how to improve these tools and suggest new content for the YPC webpage. We are also looking for help on a pilot project that will provide smartphones, pre-loaded with a YPC phone app, to help start and support a YPC. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Youth Development Associate

With YP’s support you will search for and identify child and youth peacebuilding related contracts and grants for which YP is eligible to apply. You will also help research potential donors and edit existing application documents, such as: grant proposals, work-plans, budgets, cover letters, and concept notes. Applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
