British Embassy in Phnom Penh is keen to recruit outstanding people to join its team. The British Embassy Phnom Penh is part of a worldwide network of 270 Posts, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas.
Due to the large volume of applications, only short-listed candidates will be contacted. Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview, which may also consist of a written test relevant to the role. Details will be provided at the time of short-listing. All interviews are conducted in English by a panel, usually made up of three members of staff.
Civil Services Competences and the selection process
Selection is based on the overall suitability of the candidate against the skills, qualifications, and competences required by the position, which may be demonstrated through the application form and the interview. The specific requirements for each position can be found in the job advertisement/description.

The placement will offer the candidate the chance to gain hands on experience of
working in an Embassy with a variety of tasks. In particular, we are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter and can lead and deliver on specific projects. We welcome applications from candidates who have specific skills in relation to IT, accounting and conducting research tasks.
Type of Position: Full-time, fixed contract (up to 3 months)
Working hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Phnom Penh
Salary range: USD 900 – USD 1,100 per month dependent on experience
Start date: 24 July 2017
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have fluent written and spoken English, be well motivated, have
excellent communication skills and be comfortable working independently. - Appropriate security checks may be needed and therefore you should be aware
that a lack of sufficient background information may preclude an applicant from
being granted clearance.
