Development Ambassadors: Trevor Arnett | Diplomacy Opportunities

Our Development Ambassador for this week is Trevor Arnett. Throughout  life Trevor Arnett has been involved in youth mentorship, community development, music creation, and digital communications. In his current role, Trevor applies his experience in mass communications, public relations, and community engagement in overseeing web and digital communications for the Office of Global Centers and Global Development at Columbia University. Outside of Columbia University, Trevor is a passionate community activist and advocacy rap lyricist who has performed for crowds of over 5,000 connecting with artists such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Tasya Kamila, Annie Lennox, King Los, Lola Monroe, and many others as well as working as a regional marketing advisor at Universal Records for Lil Wayne, Remy Ma, Chamillionaire, and more.

Trevor serves as a Global Ambassador to SDSN Youth for their TwentyThirty initiative (Sustainable Development Solutions Network) and works very closely in partnership with UN Women and their UN Inter-agency Network on Youth Development Working Group for Youth and Gender Equality. Trevor also served as communications consultant and ambassador to International Youth Alliance for Family Planning under the Gates Institute for Reproductive Health.

He has led interactive communications projects with organizations such as Ogilvy PR, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Baltimore City Health Department, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and Georgia State University School of Public Health. Trevor has been a speaker and mentor with many youth entities including Boys & Girls Club of America, Center for Adolescent Health’s Youth Advisory Council, and YO! Baltimore (Youth Opportunity Centers).

Trevor graduated from Morgan State University with his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 2008. In 2013, he graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland University with a Master’s of Arts in Communications.
