The Teachers for Global Classrooms Program is a year-long, fully funded professional development opportunity for elementary, middle, and high school teachers in the United States to become leaders in global education. Global education is critical to helping students develop 21st century skills. Teachers for Global Classrooms equips teachers to bring an international perspective to their schools through targeted online training, international teaching experience, and global collaboration.
Through TGC, fellows have traveled to Brazil, Colombia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Philippines, Republic of Georgia, Russian Federation, Senegal, and Ukraine.
The Teachers for Global Classrooms Program is fully funded* by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the US Department of State.

Applications must be submitted online by Monday, March 20, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Applications that are faxed, mailed, or e-mailed will not be accepted.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be currently employed as an elementary, middle, or high school teacher
- Must be a full-time teacher with five or more years of teaching experience by the end of the 2016–2017 school year
- Must be a US citizen
- Must currently reside and teach in the United States*
*US teachers at Department of Defense schools and teachers from US territories are also eligible to apply.
